Hello, ziggurat
This site runs on a computer in my apartment. It answers through a Cloudflare Tunnel, so there are no open ports on my router, and Caddy routes each subdomain to the right container.
What’s on the page
The ziggurat at the top is drawn on a <canvas> one pixel at a time. Every
time you open the page, construction drones rebuild it row by row. The sky
shows the real weather. When I’m online you’ll see me sitting on the top
terrace with a laptop.
The backend is a single Go binary with no framework: net/http, an
embedded file system for the assets, and a Markdown renderer for these notes.
What’s next
I’m going to build the systems I use every day from scratch: a Raft implementation, an LSM-tree storage engine, a Kafka-style commit log and a message broker in C. As each one comes alive, it will show up under Live services, and I’ll write up what I learned here.
